Sustainability at Shapes is simple to say and hard to fake: make fewer, better pieces that athletes wear into the ground, and tell the truth about what we’re doing to get there. Here’s what 2025 looks like for us.

Materials with a bias for durability. We’re prioritizing yarns and knit structures that keep recovery and wicking performance after hundreds of sessions, not tens. Breathable zones stay where heat actually builds; finishes balance moisture movement with a dry hand.

Suppliers who show their work. We’re deepening partnerships with mills and factories that document environmental and labor practices and welcome audits. Transparency lets us fix problems and publish what matters instead of slogans.

Repairable by design. We’re mapping seams so common failures can be repaired instead of retired. That means fewer decorative seam lines and more access where a tailor can help.

Care that works in real life. We’ll continue to recommend cold wash, mild detergent, no softeners, and hang dry—and we’ll test and publish what happens when people inevitably break those rules so guidance is honest, not idealized.

End of life with clear guidance. We’ll point athletes toward donation or textile recycling where it’s viable and say so when it isn’t. The biggest lever we have remains longevity; this roadmap invests there first.

We don’t have a perfect answer. We do have a direction: durable comfort for athletes, made with partners we can stand next to, and products we can fix when they stumble. 2025 is about turning more of that into reality.
